In the night of Wednesday to Thursday, shortly after midnight, several people broke into a gun shop on Goldgasse in Solothurn. When cantonal police officers arrived at the business, the perpetrators had already fled.
The alleged burglars are believed to have fled in a dark compact car with a French number plate. During the pursuit, a police officer from the Solothurn cantonal police who was not on active duty at the time fired a shot.
According to the current state of the investigation, no one was hit or injured in the incident. The police have disclosed neither information about the extent of the damage nor about any potentially stolen goods. The manhunt for the perpetrators is ongoing.
