Wetzikon man threatened police officers with machete – now convicted
On the night of a day in early this year, five police officers from the canton and region stood at the flat door of a man in Wetzikon. They had gone there to clarify the background of a night-time noise complaint.
When the resident opened the door, he remained at some distance – whilst holding a long, heavy knife. The object was a machete, a tool ordinarily used in the garden area for cutting thick branches or entire bushes. The investigators at the regional public prosecutor's office have now issued a penal order against the man, as the portal ZO-Online reports.
The incident was not an isolated case: in another night-time operation in the municipality, the accused had behaved similarly aggressively towards the law enforcement officers. As a result of both incidents, he has now been legally sanctioned.
