Three arrested with six kilos of marijuana in Ciudad Bolívar
A patrol from the Bogotá Metropolitan Police arrested two men and a woman in a home in Ciudad Bolívar district after finding approximately six kilograms of marijuana on the second floor of the building, according to a report from infobae.com.
The operation began when the radio dispatch centre alerted officers at the Ciudad Bolívar Police Station to gunfire detonations in the area. Upon arrival, agents heard voices calling for help from inside the house.
"Calls for help coming from inside a house," described Major Darwin Lamadrid, commander of the station, when recounting the moment the patrol decided to enter the building.
Discovery during the search
Inside the house, police located the three people on the second floor. During the search they found several bags containing the substance. "Approximately six kilos of marijuana were found," Lamadrid stated, noting that the officers "found three people on the second floor" upon entering.
The three detainees were handed over to the Office of the Attorney General for the judicial process to proceed for the alleged crime of manufacture, trafficking and possession of narcotics.
The police report did not clarify whether the gunfire that triggered the alert was related to those arrested. There was no information about injured persons or weapons seized during the operation, and the identities of the two men and the woman were not disclosed.
Part of preventative operations in Bogotá
Major Lamadrid stated that the result is part of the permanent operations the institution carries out in the capital. "These results add to the operational and preventative plans developed in the country's capital," he stated.
The commander also called on the public to report situations affecting security. "We invite the community to report any criminal activity," said Lamadrid, and noted that reports can be made through the 123 line or at the nearest police outpost.
The Metropolitan Police reported that over the course of 2026, it has seized more than 6.2 tonnes of marijuana as part of actions against narcotics trafficking in Bogotá.
Woman arrested with drugs attached to body at El Dorado
In a separate case, a 22-year-old woman was detained at El Dorado international airport after agents found 10 packets with marijuana and cocaine attached to her body. Authorities stated that the cargo exceeded six kilograms and was destined for the island of San Andrés.
The procedure began when operators of the terminal's camera monitoring system identified the passenger in an attitude they considered suspicious and alerted officers at the Airport Police Station.
During the inspection, agents found 10 packages wrapped in cling film and fastened to the woman's body, under her clothing. Police seized the substances and formalised the arrest for the alleged crime of trafficking, manufacture or possession of narcotics.
Lieutenant Colonel Elizabeth Erazo Benavides, commander of the Airport Police Station, explained that the procedure resulted from preventative work carried out by agents at the terminal. "The information provided by the officers monitoring the cameras made it possible to intercept the passenger," Erazo Benavides stated in a video released by authorities.
The official report does not mention whether the woman was travelling with others at the time she was approached by officers.
