Robber from Merhautova Street escaped thanks to customer's arrival
About a month has passed since the raid on a tobacconist's on Brno's Merhautova Street and the perpetrator has still not been apprehended. As Blesk.cz reports, Brno criminal investigators have now released a detailed identikit of the wanted man.
"In late September, in the early morning hours, he entered a tobacco stand on Merhautova Street and drew a knife on the employee. He demanded the shop assistant hand over cash. He was shouting at the woman behind the counter to give him thousand-crown notes," said police spokeswoman Andrea Cejnková.
The attacker ultimately did not get the cash. Before the frightened shop assistant could hand over the money, another customer entered the tobacconist's – and the perpetrator fled the scene.
Police describe the wanted man as a person aged 25 to 30 years old, approximately 168 cm tall, of slim build and fair complexion. He also has a distinctive identifying feature. "On his right cheek near his nose he had a freckle or mole, and his nose appeared to have been broken at the bridge," added Cejnková.
Police are asking the public for assistance. Any information about the identity of the possible perpetrator can be reported to the emergency line 158.
