Fifteen-year-old boy faces charges over brutal murder in Zábřeh
Investigators in the Olomouc Region have closed the case of a fifty-seven-year-old man's death in Zábřeh. The juvenile perpetrator faces up to ten years in prison.

Criminal investigators in the Olomouc Region have completed their inquiry into a man's death that occurred in October in Zábřeh in the Šumperk district. The case file with a request for criminal prosecution of the minor has already been sent to the prosecutor. Police spokesperson Libor Hejtman announced this, according to the Novinky.cz website.
A witness reported finding an unconscious body in the morning of 19 October in a space between residential buildings in Československé armády street. Police officers who arrived at the scene established that the circumstances of death were not natural and called in specialists from the criminal investigation department. Whilst searching for the perpetrator, they also ordered an autopsy, which confirmed the violent nature of death. The suspected boy was caught approximately half a day after the body was discovered.
Jan Lisický, head of the Olomouc criminal police, described the act as extraordinarily brutal. According to him, the perpetrator acted out of mere desire to vent his anger. The victim was attacked exclusively with blows from the lower limbs. "The damage to the head was devastating. We have not experienced anything like this in our entire service," Lisický commented immediately after the incident.
The murdered man had been staying at a local hostel, although he was not among the homeless. He had no relationship with his attacker. "He weighed only forty-seven kilogrammes, and could not defend himself against the aggressor," an investigator stated.
Due to the suspect's young age, the court can impose a maximum sentence of ten years in prison.
