Fresh bomb threats against Kastrup: Police investigate, operations continue

Copenhagen Police deployed in large numbers to Copenhagen Airport on Friday morning following fresh threats directed at air traffic, writes The Copenhagen Post. Police's preliminary assessment was that neither passengers nor others were in danger – and that there had been no danger previously either.

The incident is under investigation. Police could not immediately provide further details or confirm whether specific aircraft had been searched.

Copenhagen Airport confirmed the police presence and stated that operations proceeded as planned. The airport referred further questions to police.

Friday's incident is a continuation of a series of threats that began Thursday morning, when two aircraft at Kastrup received threats and triggered a response from police and the Danish Defence's Ammunition Disposal Service. According to B.T., the airport received an email containing threats against specific departures. Police told Ritzau on Thursday that the aircraft had been examined and that nothing suspicious was found.

The threats formed part of a broader wave of incidents across Europe. Reuters described Thursday's wave of bomb warnings as unusually extensive and reported that nearly 30 aircraft were affected. No explosives were found in any of the affected aircraft.

On Friday, reports also came of fresh threats in Prague. A spokesperson for the Czech airport told Reuters that aircraft departed after inspection, and that no explosives were found there either.
