23-year-old charged with knife murder of father in Hornslet
A 58-year-old man was killed on 10 December with at least four knife wounds that struck him in the chest, abdomen and back. The murder took place in the family home in Hornslet at around 21:45.
According to B.T., the Prosecution at East Jutland Police has now brought charges against the victim's 23-year-old son. At the preliminary hearing the day after his arrest, it emerged that the son had bloodstains on his clothing when police apprehended him. TV 2 Østjylland, which was present at the hearing, further reports that police were in possession of video recordings that strengthened suspicion against him.
The son was remanded in custody at the preliminary hearing and placed in a closed psychiatric ward.
The prosecutor contends that the sentence should be placement in a psychiatric ward with no fixed term. Furthermore, a request is made that the defendant loses the right to inherit from his father.
The case will be heard at Randers District Court on 4 November.
