"Piranña" arrested for murder of Haitian delivery man in Villa Mella
The National Police arrested Ahesel Manuel González Pérez, alias "Piranña", accused of responsibility for the death of a chicken delivery man in Santo Domingo Norte.

The National Police arrested Ahesel Manuel González Pérez, alias "Piranña", identified as one of the alleged perpetrators of the death of a Haitian chicken delivery man that occurred on Thursday morning in the Punta de Villa Mella sector of Santo Domingo Norte, according to elnuevodiario.com.do.
The victim was identified as Escater Gedelien, 42 years old, who died whilst receiving medical attention at a health centre as a result of a gunshot wound.
According to the preliminary report from the authorities, the incident occurred when Gedelien was traveling by motorcycle on 31st Street in the Punta de Villa Mella sector. The alleged assailants fired a shot with the intention of stopping him to rob him of his belongings, leaving him seriously wounded.
González Pérez was arrested in flagrante delicto and, according to the authorities, admitted his participation in the incident along with three other individuals, identified only by the nicknames "Zaelo", Enrique, and "Blanquito", who remain at large.
During the police operation, two motorcycles were seized that allegedly were used to commit the crime.
The National Police indicated that it is maintaining an active search for the other individuals involved and urged them to turn themselves in by whatever means they deem appropriate. The detainee will be handed over to the Public Ministry for the corresponding legal proceedings.
