Urban music artist Elvis Manuel Santos Alcántara was apprehended along with a companion after being discovered with a firearm without proper authorisation during a police checkpoint in San Cristóbal province.

Elvis Manuel Santos Alcántara, recognised in the arts sector as "Onguito Wa", was taken into custody for a second time along with a 36-year-old man identified as Ángel Gabriel Rosario de la Rosa. The arrest occurred as they were driving a pickup truck through San Cristóbal territory and officers seized a pistol that did not have the required authorisation.
The operation was carried out as part of a joint surveillance and intelligence-gathering action deployed by personnel from the Regional Directorate of the area. The exact location was Sánchez Vieja street, within the area known as Doña Ana.
During a search of the vehicle, a dark-coloured Honda CR-V, officers found beneath the rear seat on the left side a Glock 19 pistol, its magazine and seventeen nine-millimetre rounds.
The investigation determined that the firearm did not have proper documentation, which is why it was retained immediately. Subsequently, the arrested individuals and the seized items were referred to the prosecution so that appropriate legal measures could be adopted, whilst the case continues to be examined.
