"Polote" arrested for robberies in San Carlos; 17 wallets recovered
The National Police arrested Justin Esteban Peguero, 21, accused of multiple street robberies in San Carlos. Seventeen wallets containing documents and bank cards were recovered.

According to eldia.com.do, the National Police arrested Justin Esteban Peguero, alias "Polote", 21, identified as the suspected perpetrator of multiple robberies through street snatching in the San Carlos sector, National District. The operation resulted in the recovery of 17 wallets containing personal documents, bank cards and other belongings of affected citizens.
The arrest was carried out by agents from the Investigation Division (DICRIM), C-2, attached to the Department of Investigation of Crimes and Offences against Property. Follow-up work and analysis of security camera footage made it possible to identify the suspect and locate him on Vicini Street at the corner of París, in San Carlos.
At the moment of his detention, Peguero was travelling on a HAOJUE XPRESS model motorcycle, red in colour, without a visible number plate. He was carrying a waistband-style wallet inside which five mobile phones of different brands were found.
During the investigative process, the detainee allegedly admitted to his participation in the acts and revealed to investigators that he used to dispose of the stolen wallets and documents in vacant lots.
Based on his statements, investigators travelled to 27 Street at the corner of Francisco Carvajal, where they located, on the roof of a dwelling, the 17 wallets. Among the recovered material were four Haitian passports, two Dominican identity cards, foreign identity documents, work permits, insurance documents, bank cards and Santo Domingo Metro cards, work identification badges, ten sets of keys and other personal items.
The National Police reported that the detainee, together with the motorcycle and seized evidence, will be turned over to the Public Ministry for the corresponding legal purposes and continuation of the investigative process.
