Dominican captured in Spain wanted for murder with baseball bat

Spanish authorities located and detained an individual known as "Muñingo" in the locality of Illescas, within the province of Toledo. The man is sought by Dominican justice due to a crime committed in December 2022 in Santo Domingo Este, where he allegedly killed another person by striking them with a baseball bat. According to what was published by Spain's Interior Ministry on interior.gob.es, the offender could receive a custodial sentence of up to thirty years in Dominican territory.

The victim was approached in a public place during the month of December 2022. The aggressor inflicted blunt force impacts on different parts of the body, including the head. Despite being quickly transported to a health centre, the victim died days later as a result of the injuries.

During the present year, in the month of February, Spanish authorities were alerted to an extradition order activated by the National Court. The wanted man had violated measures imposed by the judicial body and had remained hidden in a house belonging to one of his relatives. Officers verified that the suspect completely avoided leaving the street, which strengthened the hypothesis that he was sheltering in the property. Food and basic necessities were frequently brought to him there, and he regularly received visits from close associates.

The capture was realised during the last days of June. He was subsequently handed over to the corresponding judicial authorities to manage his return to the Caribbean country.
