Four arrested in Santiago following armed robbery of jewellery store on San Luis Street

According to elnacional.com.do, four young men were arrested by the National Police in Santiago de los Caballeros after committing an armed robbery against a jewellery store located on San Luis Street.
The robbery occurred at approximately 4:10 p.m. Four armed individuals broke into the establishment, took valuable items and cash, and fled aboard a grey Honda CR-V sports utility vehicle.
After receiving the report, officers activated a search operation and circulated details of the vehicle. Minutes later, the sports utility vehicle was located and intercepted on Avenida Estrella Sadhalá. At that point, Marcos José García de la Cruz, Andy José Castillo Jiménez, Delvinson Luis Restituyo Mejía and Heber Isaac Burgos García were arrested.
Weapon, jewellery and cash seized
During the intervention, officers seized RD$36,150 in cash, two US dollars, 4,895 grams of silver, four silver earrings, four mobile telephones, gloves, balaclavas and an undocumented pistol with four rounds, which was allegedly used in the robbery.
The Police indicated that the money, jewellery, vehicle and remaining evidence are in custody and will be forwarded to the Public Prosecutor's Office as part of the investigative process.
The authorities stated that investigations are continuing to determine whether there are other persons involved in the incident.
