Two Dominicans extradited from Madrid and Chile for rape and homicide
The National Police received two Dominican citizens wanted by the courts, extradited from Spain and Chile for cases of sexual rape and homicide.
Interpol hands over two Dominican fugitives accused of rape and homicide
The Dominican National Police received, separately, two citizens wanted by the courts through the National Central Office (OCN) Interpol Santo Domingo, according to reports from diariolibre.com. Both cases involve serious crimes: sexual rape of minors and homicide.
In the first operation, Augusto Gabriel Alcántara Mateo was handed over at Las Américas International Airport after being extradited from Madrid, Spain. The authorities were seeking him via international red notice for alleged sexual rape against two minors, in incidents investigated in San Juan de la Maguana. The accused was placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor's Office to answer before the jurisdiction of Children and Adolescents.
In the second case, agents from Interpol Santo Domingo transferred Michael Rodríguez Santos from Santiago, Chile, wanted for a homicide that occurred on 2 January 2022 in the municipality of Los Alcarrizos, where Edison Soriano died.
The National Police highlighted that both extraditions were carried out in coordination with international organisations and judicial authorities, as part of operations aimed at locating and capturing fugitives wanted by Dominican justice.
