Brothers present themselves to police following delivery driver's murder in Santiago area

A group of three brothers—one of them still an adolescent—decided to surrender voluntarily to Dominican justice after being subject to an intense police manhunt. The three are alleged to be responsible for the killing of a young man who worked delivering orders, an incident that occurred during a brawl in the Hato Mayor sector of the city of Santiago.

The information was disclosed by Infobae República Dominicana. The now-detained suspects are named Eudis Martínez Henríquez, nicknamed "El Pana", 21 years old; Anneudy Rafael Cabrera Henríquez, known as "Cocote", 19 years old; and a boy aged 16. Law enforcement had been pursuing them since the past weekend, when the fatal altercation occurred at a food establishment where the victim, Joel Rivera Heredia, 24 years old, who was known among his close circles as "King", worked.

According to the official report, the confrontation that ended the young delivery driver's life originated in a social dispute. During the altercation, Rivera Heredia sustained multiple stab wounds from a sharp weapon. The injuries proved fatal, as confirmed by the forensic examiner.

The police institution reported that the accused chose to present themselves before the Regional Investigation Sub-directorate (DICRIM) accompanied by relatives, in response to the mounting pressure from deployed operations and the proximity of uniformed officers. The arrested men were handed over to the Public Prosecutor's Office for appropriate proceedings, whilst investigations continue to determine whether there are other people involved.

Diego Pesqueira, spokesman for the National Police, reported on the incident through his social media profiles. He highlighted that the brothers' appearance was achieved thanks to tracking deployment and investigative work, which included the publication of images and joint work with residents of the area.

The force emphasised that it maintains control operations in Santiago and in other jurisdictions throughout the country, with the aim of reducing violence indices and solving recent crimes.
