The National Police arrested 14 people in flagrant delict during a 24-hour period, as part of preventative operations deployed by the Santo Domingo Norte Regional Directorate, according to elnuevodiario.com.do.
In those same actions, two fugitives were captured and four vehicles and two motorcycles reported as stolen were recovered.
Officers also seized one illegal firearm, one homemade firearm and various bladed weapons.
Additionally, three people were detained for alleged involvement in illegal street racing. Authorities dismantled several points allegedly dedicated to the sale of narcotic substances, where they seized drug portions, cash, scales and other related items.
The Santo Domingo Norte Regional Directorate stated that these operations form part of the permanent preventative and operational efforts deployed to combat crime and guarantee public safety.
The detainees and seized evidence will be referred to the competent authorities for the corresponding legal proceedings.
