Police seize three firearms during operations in Santo Domingo Norte
The National Police of the Dominican Republic confiscated three firearms and detained several people during operations carried out in Santo Domingo Norte, according to a report by Prensa Latina.
During the course of the operations, officers seized a Smith & Wesson pistol along with its magazine and two rounds. The weapon was found in the possession of Antoni Junior Deñó, who will face charges for illegal possession of a firearm.
Similarly, during a procedure carried out in the Cristal neighbourhood, authorities recovered a second pistol, a Colt, with its respective magazine and seven rounds.
In another operation, conducted in the Enriquillo sector following a complaint about excessive noise, uniformed officers seized a Maverick shotgun, calibre 12, with five cartridges.
During the operations, multiple people engaged in suspicious conduct were taken into custody for investigative purposes. Some of those apprehended were travelling on motorcycles without the corresponding documentation, whilst others were taken to the police station for disturbing the peace.
Authorities stated that these operations form part of ongoing efforts aimed at reinforcing citizen security in the area.
