A 35-year-old Danish citizen was arrested on Saturday morning in the Spanish town of Mijas on Costa del Sol after local police found a hand grenade in his possession in a residential area. This is reported by Spanish media outlet Diario Sur, according to B.T.
Specialised bomb disposal experts were deployed to secure and safely remove the explosive device.
It remains unclear whether the arrest occurred as part of a routine patrol or a targeted operation.
The arrested Dane is expected to be brought before a judge in the coming days, when it will be determined whether he should be remanded in custody or released on bail.
