Drug gang fight in Dos Hermanas: two convicted of downgraded attempted murder
A confrontation between members of drug trafficking clans in Dos Hermanas involving an axe, knife and airsoft rifle was downgraded from attempted murder to assault. Seville's Provincial Court sentenced two members of the Tres Mil clan to three years in prison.

Reduced sentences in gang brawl
One summer afternoon in 2020, three drug traffickers from the Tres Mil Viviendas clan travelled to Plaza Doctor Fleming in Dos Hermanas to recover a drug debt. They were carrying an airsoft rifle, a knife and a kitchen axe. The confrontation that followed resulted in seven arrests and was initially investigated as attempted murder, but on 13 October reached a judicial agreement before Seville's Provincial Court. According to diariodesevilla.es, the four adults tried—two from each clan—accepted reduced sentences for assault offences: three years for those from the capital's clan and one year for those from Dos Hermanas.
Jonathan S.V. and his father Manuel S.S., along with a minor already previously convicted, travelled to Dos Hermanas on 21 July 2020 to attack brothers Ismael and Pedro Manuel M.M., against whom Ismael was holding debts from drug trafficking. In the plaza were Ismael, his mother and his sister-in-law. Upon seeing them arrive, Ismael fled, but his mother advanced towards the attackers to protect her son.
Manuel S.S. brought the axe down against the woman's head, leaving her unconscious. When Ismael returned to help her, Jonathan struck him with the rifle. Pedro M.M. arrived shortly afterwards to help his brother and struggled with Manuel; both fell to the ground. The minor from Tres Mil approached Pedro from behind and stabbed him several times in the side, whilst Manuel struck him with another two axe blows. Pedro, after freeing himself, attacked Manuel on the head with a piece of the rifle he had picked up off the ground. The Local Police ended the confrontation.
The Public Prosecutor initially accused Jonathan and Manuel of attempted murder, requesting nineteen years in prison each—twelve for the main offence and three and a half years each for assault with a dangerous weapon—. Ismael and Pedro were charged with assault and the Prosecutor requested three years and six months. Pedro's private prosecution was more severe: fourteen and a half years for the attempted murder plus four years for each assault for members of the Seville clan, totalling twenty-two years. He argued that he and his brother acted in self-defence and requested their acquittal.
During the morning of the trial, all parties negotiated and reached an agreement. The Public Prosecutor and the defence teams amended their submissions and reduced the case to four counts of assault with a dangerous weapon: three committed by Jonathan and Manuel, and another by Ismael and Pedro. The Tres Mil clan also waived compensation of 7,810 euros initially assigned to Manuel. The highly qualifying mitigating circumstance of undue delays was applied to all accused.
With the agreement, each assault offence was sentenced to one year in prison, resulting in three years' imprisonment for Jonathan S.V. and Manuel S.S., and one year for Ismael and Pedro M.M. The court declared the sentence final immediately.
Regarding compensation, Jonathan and Manuel will pay 30,000 euros to Pedro M.M. and 2,810 to his mother. Before the deal, the Public Prosecutor determined that Ismael should receive 8,260 euros and Ismael 21,480. The agreement eliminated compensation for Ismael and increased that for Pedro.
Pedro Manuel M.M. proved to be the principal victim of the incident. He suffered multiple incised wounds of different sizes on his back, a traumatic perforation of the colon and another to his right elbow. He underwent surgery and spent the first four days in a very serious condition, requiring four months to recover. He is left with several scars and a mental disorder assessed as mild.
His brother Ismael received several incised wounds, a head contusion, superficial injuries to the back, inflammation on the dorsum of his left hand and a dislocation of the radius and carpus. He recovered within twenty-one days with scars as sequelae.
Their mother suffered an injury to the occipital region, a punctate wound on a finger and contusion to her right knee. Among her sequelae is perilesional alopecia with aesthetic damage valued at two points. The sentence included no restraining order between the two groups, though nothing was agreed on this matter.
