Arrested for drug trafficking in Cordovilla
Spain's Guardia Civil in Navarre arrested a 58-year-old man on Thursday 4 November as the suspected perpetrator of drug trafficking. The arrest took place in the industrial estate of Cordovilla, in the Cuenca de Pamplona, during a preventive public safety operation.
According to El Confidencial, officers from the Public Safety Unit of the Comandancia identified a car whose driver changed direction upon noticing the police presence. In the initial inspection they found a small amount of cocaine which the driver handed over voluntarily, but the subsequent search of the vehicle revealed 391 grammes of speed and another 8 grammes of cocaine, along with material for drug distribution and 530 euros in cash.
In the boot they also located a crossbow with several types of projectiles, which prompted immediate detention. During a second search carried out at the Comandancia premises, with support from the canine unit—the dog Fox is trained in narcotics detection—two precision scales and five additional grammes of speed hidden under the ashtray were found, items which went unnoticed during the first inspection.
The detainee was placed at the disposal of the judicial authorities. The proceedings were handled by the Main Station of the Guardia Civil in Pamplona and forwarded to the duty court of the Navarrese capital.
