A man turned himself in to Madrid Municipal Police following the discovery of a woman's body at a residence in the Barcelona neighbourhood of Nou Barris. The Mossos are investigating the case under secrecy.

According to heraldo.es, Madrid Municipal Police detained a man on Wednesday as the suspected author of the violent death of his partner at a residence in the Barcelona district of Nou Barris. The Superior Court of Justice of Catalonia (TSJC) confirmed that the detainee was the partner of the deceased and that there were no prior judicial records between them.
Officers from the Mossos d'Esquadra and Barcelona Fire Brigade attended the residence after receiving a report from a person alerting them to a woman unresponsive inside. Upon entering the property, they located the body. The suspected perpetrator turned himself in to Madrid police shortly after the discovery of the corpse.
The Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Mossos d'Esquadra has opened an investigation to clarify the circumstances of the incident. The case is being kept under judicial secrecy. The investigating magistrate's section of the Barcelona court will recuse itself in favour of the gender violence unit.
