Officers from the National Police detained a 26-year-old Moroccan national in the early hours of Sunday, accused of sexual assault against a 22-year-old Spanish woman in a tent at the Puerta del Sol encampment, according to elmundo.es.
The incident occurred at approximately 06.30 hours when the detained man entered the tent and touched the young woman. After she objected to his conduct, a third occupant of the tent also reproached him for the assault. The man responded with violence, attacking him and causing injuries.
Officers from the GOR and the FOCUS group from the Centro police station proceeded with the detention. The injured man filed a complaint at the police station; the victim of sexual assault attended the Family and Women's Unit (UFAM) to file her own report. The detained man awaits his appearance before a court.
