The emergency centre received a report of armed violence on Sunday at 15.10 in Helsinki's Curves, right next to Sörnäinen metro station.
One man was stabbed in the torso. He was transported to hospital for treatment.
Police apprehended the suspected perpetrator shortly after the incident. According to authorities, the man is approximately forty years old.
The investigation is treating the incident provisionally as attempted manslaughter. Police are seeking to establish what led to the violence.
