Ice Cage star's BMW found with 160 kg of amphetamine – Gadiev cleared of charges
Thai boxing world champion Magamed Gadiev's car was found to contain a massive drug shipment in February in Helsinki. The prosecutor decided not to press charges due to lack of evidence.

Google News FI — Crime (fi) reported that combat sports star Magamed Gadiev's BMW car was found to contain approximately 160 kilograms of amphetamine, approximately 6.5 kilograms of cannabis and approximately 450 grams of cocaine in Munkkivuori, Helsinki in February.
The Central Criminal Police conducted a search on the parked vehicle in early 2025. There was a large suitcase on the back seat and plastic bags in the footwell containing drugs. Amphetamine was found in a pipe case behind the driver's seat.
Gadiev, whose real name is Magamed-Bashir Tavbulatov, is a 21-year-old Thai boxing world champion under 24 years of age and a well-known name at Ice Cage events. He won the world championship title in the under 24 years old men's category in Malaysia in summer 2025 and in the under 23 years old category in Turkey a year earlier.
Gadiev's account: a hundred-euro loan to an acquaintance from the mosque
During the preliminary investigation, Gadiev said he had lent his car to a man he had met at a mosque for a week for a hundred euros. The man had repeatedly admired the car and asked to borrow it.
In winter, the man asked for the car urgently, and Gadiev agreed due to his poor financial situation. A failed weight cut had, according to him, taken a large part of his fight purse.
Gadiev said he had attached an AirTag to the car to track the vehicle's location. However, police did not find the device in the car.
After lending the car, the man did not respond to Gadiev's attempts at contact, according to Gadiev. They followed each other on Snapchat, but Gadiev did not have the man's phone number.
Gadiev denied any connection to drugs during the preliminary investigation and said he did not know the car was being used for criminal activity. He also denied knowing other individuals linked to the case.
The car key was subsequently seized from the home of a central suspect in the drug network.
Prosecutor: no evidence of involvement
The prosecutor decided not to press charges. According to the decision, the preliminary investigation did not produce evidence that would have proven Gadiev's account false or that he had known when lending the car that it would be used to store drugs.
The case was first revealed by the Uuno.fi website.
Gadiev continues his sporting career: in September he faces Daniel Forsberg in a professional Thai boxing match at the Ice Cage event in Turku. At the May Ice Cage, he knocked out Jussi Pirttikangas.
