National Bureau of Investigation searched for crowbar at Ulvila murder house
The National Bureau of Investigation (National Bureau of Investigation) visited a house in Ulvila last spring where Jukka S. Lahti was murdered in 2006, according to Yle's information.
According to Yle, the search focused on the murder weapon, which is suspected to be a crowbar. A filleting knife and a log were found at the time at Lahti's murder scene, but one of the murder weapons has been missing from the start. The search did not extend inside the house, and the weapon was not found.
In addition to searching for the weapon, police have recently interviewed several people as witnesses in connection with the murder investigation.
Olli Töyräs, the lead investigator in the Ulvila murder investigation, declined to comment to Yle on the National Bureau of Investigation's new investigative measures.
Lahti's murder is one of Finland's most well-known homicides. The case was transferred to the National Bureau of Investigation's investigation in late 2024, and the act is being investigated as a murder. Police do not have an official suspect, and all investigative lines remain open.
Anneli Auerista became a suspect in 2009, and she was convicted twice in district court of the man's murder. The Court of Appeal of Vaasa dismissed the charges in 2015.
