According to Is.fi, police suspect an adult man of harassing several young women in Koskipuisto in Tampere city centre on Friday evening at around 10 p.m.
Crime commissioner Heikki Järnström from South-Central Finland Police says that the victims may also include underage girls. According to the police, the victims were unknown to the man beforehand.
According to Järnström, the incident involved touching and verbal harassment. A crime report has been filed for sexual harassment.
Multiple calls were made to the emergency centre on Friday regarding the incident. However, many of the victims were able to leave the scene before police arrived, so their identities are not known to the police.
The identity of the suspected man has been established and he has been questioned. Police encourage anyone who has experienced harassment to file a crime report, for example electronically on the police website.
