Satan's Choice MC seized clubhouse in Helsinki's Malmi – owner assaulted
Beastside Elite MC unlawfully took control of a clubhouse in Malmi and later joined Satan's Choice MC. Police are investigating the case as assault and extortion.
Motorcycle gang seized Malmi clubhouse by force – owner hospitalised
Yle News reports on a case in which a criminal motorcycle gang unlawfully took control of premises used by a motorcycle club in Helsinki's Malmi and assaulted the property owner.
The clubhouse of nearly 200 square metres on Ormuspellontie is owned by a private property investor who had rented the space to Kraftwolf MC since 2021. Kraftwolf terminated their lease in spring 2025, after which a gang calling itself Beastside Elite MC began using the premises unlawfully without paying rent.
According to sources interviewed by Yle, members of Kraftwolf MC were forced to vacate the premises urgently. They left behind thousands of euros' worth of tools and other property. One source describes a command received from the gang briefly: "The word came down that we had to get our bikes out of there."
Owner assaulted – case under prosecutorial review
Multiple Yle sources report that the property owner – according to media reports, a deeply religious retired entrepreneur – was assaulted at the clubhouse in summer 2025 when he went to demand that gang members vacate.
"He was beaten into a state requiring hospitalisation. And that's why he or any of us dares not speak about it," says a party involved in resolving the space dispute, speaking to Yle.
Helsinki police report that they have investigated the seizure of the clubhouse as unlawful occupation, assault and extortion. The matter is currently under prosecutorial review. Yle does not know whether the investigated assault relates specifically to the altercation that occurred at the clubhouse.
The landlord has turned to police for assistance in attempting to prevent gang members from using the premises, but the motorcycle gang members have returned to the property even after being removed once. Police and enforcement officers emptied the premises most recently at the end of May – the occupation had lasted almost a year by that point. Yle visited the site in June and found Satan's Choice insignia still visible.
Beastside joined Satan's Choice MC through patchover procedure
Shortly after the seizure, Beastside changed its name and joined the Canadian Satan's Choice MC through a so-called patchover procedure, in which a smaller club merges with a larger one and members gain full membership directly. Yle reported on Satan's Choice's arrival in Finland earlier this year.
Satan's Choice has sought to expand its international network rapidly. In Finland, the club appears to be a small operator for now – photographs have featured around ten members, some unnamed.
Yle-identified members are almost all with criminal backgrounds. A person appearing as the club's figurehead with a background in mixed martial arts has been convicted of drink-driving and assault of a woman, and is suspected of being one of the parties in the clubhouse dispute. The member with the heaviest sentence served a one year and eight month suspended prison sentence for serious drug offence – at his home, he kept nearly 19 kilograms of cannabis.
Vantaa fire investigated – no criminal offence found
The case is also connected to a fire that occurred in Vantaa in April. The landlord of the clubhouse on Ormuspellontie owns a company whose production facilities in Vantaa caught fire. Police became aware of rumours suggesting that the building had been set alight in retaliation for eviction attempts – gang members had been evicted from the Ormuspellontie premises a few days before the fire.
However, no evidence of intentional arson was found.
"We were aware of that background, but based on the fire investigation, it is determined that there is no reason to suspect a criminal offence," says Detective Inspector Markku Lylykangas of Eastern Uusimaa police.
The Vantaa fire investigation is scheduled to be completed in early June. The landlord and Satan's Choice MC have not responded to Yle's requests for comment.
