Man fleeing on stolen motorcycle caught in Turku – drove in oncoming lane in tunnel
A man attempted to flee from police on a stolen motorcycle in Turku city centre on Friday evening. The chase ended in a crash and arrest.
Fleeing in stolen motorcycle in Turku – near miss in tunnel
According to Yle.fi, a patrol from South-Western Finland police identified a motorcycle reported as stolen in Turku city centre on Friday evening. The rider immediately fled at high speed.
The chase continued for several kilometres among other traffic. The man drove across the Aura River bridge into Mylly Tunnel, where he used the oncoming lanes and nearly collided with an oncoming car.
Eventually the man crashed his motorcycle onto a grassy area. Police arrested him on suspicion of aggravated endangerment of traffic safety and aggravated theft. The motorcycle had been stolen earlier that same week.
