Epstein case: messages reveal network of recruiters

Confidential messages from the sex trafficker

The Paris prosecutor has revealed that she has identified several people who allegedly "supplied" young women to Jeffrey Epstein, according to Le Nouvel Obs. Message exchanges dating from June 2019, shortly before the arrest of the sex offender, bear witness to the organisation of the trafficking network he had established.

On 26 June 2019, Epstein sent instructions to his Paris-based assistant via Skype. He asked her to cancel the arrival in France of a young woman, promising to finance the renewal of her visa. Two hours later, he sent her a domestic request: to buy buckwheat-hull cushions at Bon Marché and have them delivered before 3 p.m. to his apartment on Avenue Foch, intended for a Qatari businessman.

Between these administrative tasks, the assistant also managed the millionaire's sexual schedule. On that same day, she reported to Epstein: "Traffic is insane. The girl will be here in forty minutes." This compartmentalisation of requests—trafficking requests and domestic chores mixed together—illustrates the systematic nature of the organisation set up by Epstein to recruit and control his victims.

These messages, made public via the "Epstein files", constitute evidence documenting the key role of the women who facilitated sexual exploitation. The Paris investigation is now focusing on identifying all the people involved in this labyrinthine network of abuse.
