According to information from media outlet BFMTV, Jérôme Barela is currently held in a penitentiary facility in southern France and is due to be transferred shortly to solitary confinement. This measure aims to prevent any contact with other inmates, as it is considered likely that he will face threats or assaults due to the nature of the crime he is accused of. At the same time, prison authorities are closely monitoring his psychological state, fearing that he may take his own life.
Like most inmates, he has access to a television and is thus able to follow developments in the case.
