Five arrests in operation to dismantle gang in Attica
A major police operation by the Directorate for Prosecution and Investigation of Crimes Against Life and Property of DAOE has been underway since the early morning hours, aimed at dismantling a dangerous criminal organisation in Attica. According to Ethnos, five arrests have been carried out so far.
Members of the gang are linked to serious cases of extortion, explosions involving hand grenade attacks and attempted homicide. Authorities believe this is the same group behind hand grenade attacks on shops owned by Syrians in Agios Panteleimon and Omonia in September.
The case file that has been filed includes, in addition, four other individuals who are already detained in correctional facilities in the country. In total, nine people are implicated in the case.
