Raid on Via Duprè: 15 doses of cocaine in eyeglass cases

Carabinieri arrested a man resident in Padua, already known to law enforcement, in flagrante delicto on suspicion of possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking. This is reported by padovaoggi.it.

The operation was carried out in the early afternoon of Wednesday 3 June in the San Carlo all'Arcella district, following reports from residents about continuous foot traffic to and from an apartment on Via Duprè, believed to be connected to drug-trafficking activity.

After identifying the apartment and waiting for the man's return, the officers launched the raid. Upon the officers' entry, the suspect admitted to holding drugs in the bedroom, voluntarily handing over some hashish fragments.

During the search, the man attempted to remove two eyeglass cases from the desk from police control, but was immediately stopped. Inside, 15 doses of cocaine and 200 euros in cash were found. Also seized were a precision scale, materials for packaging doses, and several notes traceable to the alleged trafficking activity.

On the Padua Prosecutor's orders, the man was placed under house arrest pending the validation hearing. On Friday morning, the judge validated the arrest and imposed on the suspect a restriction requiring him to remain in the municipality of Padua.
