Alytus district police on Thursday stopped a BMW on Statytojai Street – in the vehicle were two young men aged 17 and 19. According to lrt.lt, officers found packets containing crystalline suspected psychotropic substance and cannabis in the car.

Continuing procedural actions, a search was carried out in an apartment on the same street, belonging to a 36-year-old man. Officers confiscated 40 plastic ziplock bags containing approximately 150 grammes of crystalline substance and three electronic scales. The apartment owner is already known to law enforcement: previously convicted for theft, public order violations, grievous bodily harm and other criminal acts.

The same day another BMW was stopped – driven by a 32-year-old woman. Possible cannabis was found on her, and one round of ammunition was found in the vehicle.

During the investigation, a 19-year-old Alytus resident was also detained, with her possible connection to the criminal acts under investigation being examined.

All five detained persons were charged with suspicion of distributing narcotics to minors, unlawful possession of narcotics for the purpose of distribution and unlawful possession of ammunition.
