Special Investigation Service Suspects Four Municipal Council Members in 'Receipts' Cases

The Special Investigation Service (STT) announced on Thursday that in the 'receipts' cases, suspicions have been brought against four Lithuanian municipal council members, reports 15min.

Vilija Bartašienė, member of the Joniškis District Municipality Council, is suspected of abusing her official position during 2019–2023 and submitting data that did not correspond to reality concerning fuel expenses. According to preliminary investigation data, in this manner the municipality administration could have been caused damage of 637 euros.

Algirdas Brazys, member of the Marijampolė Municipality Council, is suspected of similar abuse of office during the 2019–2021 period. Suspicions have also been brought against Rima Zablackienė, member of the Prienai District Municipality Council, and Linas Šedvila, member of the Telšiai District Municipality Council.
