In the night of 22 to 23 June, approximately 20 minutes after midnight, a confrontation with police broke out in the Giedraičiai settlement. Officers arrived after being called by local residents, who complained of loud music and public order violations.
The police who arrived were met with resistance. One of the party participants refused to comply with lawful demands to provide his details. When officers decided to detain him, the man struck a uniformed representative of the Molėtai district police.
The officer, born in 1995, sustained injuries, but after examination by doctors was able to continue working.
The man who resisted – a person born in 1969, for whom a breathalyser test determined an average level of intoxication of 1.70 per mille – was detained and placed in custody.
