Two door arson cases were recorded in Kaunas and Šiauliai district on 15 June. An intoxicated man was detained in Kuršėnai. Investigations have been launched into property damage by a manner dangerous to the public.

In the early hours of 15 June, a fire broke out in Kaunas on Telšių Street, with the external doors of a residential building catching fire. According to preliminary information, the flames were set deliberately. The extent of damages is currently being calculated.
Late in the evening of the same day, another incident occurred in Kuršėnai, Šiauliai district, in a multi-storey building's stairwell. An intoxicated young man, born in 2000, is suspected of setting the doors alight. His blood alcohol content was measured at 1.43 per mille. In the incident, the stairwell walls and doors of nearby residential units were blackened. The suspect was detained and placed in custody.
Law enforcement has launched preliminary investigations in both cases under the article on property damage by a manner generally dangerous to the public. The exact damage has not yet been assessed.
