Kaunas regional court has found two individuals guilty of illegally transporting narcotic substances across the Lithuania-Poland border.

Kaunas regional court handed down a guilty verdict in a case where two individuals were charged with unlawful possession of narcotic substances and their smuggling.
According to criminal proceedings data, the defendants acquired two packages containing approximately 0.5 grams of cocaine. These substances they intended to use for personal consumption during their journey.
The defendants transported the narcotic substances in a Volvo motor vehicle to Polish territory, and on the same day brought them back to Lithuania. The state border was crossed at a border checkpoint located in Lazdijai district.
Later, in the same district, police officers stopped the vehicle. After conducting a personal search, border officials discovered and seized the narcotic substance.
