On 27 June, at approximately 20:53, in Kėdainiai on Kęstučio Street, police officers stopped an Audi A6 for inspection. The vehicle was being driven by a man born in 1989, who was found to have a severe degree of intoxication – 2.98 per mille.
For this reason, the offender was not permitted to continue driving.
Under Lithuanian criminal law, a person behind the wheel with 1.51 or greater per mille of blood alcohol concentration can be punished with a fine, arrest or imprisonment for up to one year. Additionally, the offender may have their driving licence revoked and the vehicle they were using confiscated.
