A video circulated on social media showing violence against a young man in Klaipėda on Žvejų Street outside a night bar. The incident occurred in the early morning hours.
The footage shows two men attacking a third man, beating him, with the victim falling to the ground. Later, one of the attackers approaches him, pulls down his trousers and exposes his genitals near the victim's head. The attackers then pull up their trousers and leave the beaten man lying on the ground.
The person who sent the video material to the newsroom emphasised that they are not the video's author, but were concerned about the fate of the beaten man. Source: 15min.lt.
Until now, officers of Klaipėda District Police Headquarters had not seen this video and have not received a report from the victim or witnesses. However, according to representatives of Klaipėda City Police Commissariat, evidence is already being gathered based on the footage provided and circumstances are being clarified.
Andromeda Grauslienė, a representative of Klaipėda District Police Headquarters, urged residents who see or film similar public order violations to inform police without delay. The sooner a report is made, the greater the chance of gathering evidence from security cameras in surrounding buildings and investigating the crime. According to her, when such obvious violations – beatings, exposure of genitals – occur in a public place, an investigation can be initiated even without a complaint from the victim.
