During the night from Sunday to Monday, police in Panevėžys stopped a young man on the streets in whose possession packets of suspicious substances were found.
The incident was recorded on 6 July, at around 1 a.m., near the intersection of Nemunas and J. Tilvytis streets. Upon checking a person born in 2002, officers found two clear, sealable bags in his possession which, according to preliminary data, may have contained narcotic substances.
A pre-trial investigation has been initiated in connection with this case under Article 259 of the Criminal Code. This provision establishes liability for the unlawful possession of narcotic or psychotropic substances without the aim of distributing them. The suspect was detained.
