Panevėžys police have detained a young man born in 2002, in whose pockets were found two bags containing a substance suspected to be drugs. An investigation has been initiated under Article 259 of the Criminal Code.

Panevėžys police patrols checked a young person late Monday night near the intersection of Nemunas and J. Tilvyčio streets and found two bags containing suspicious substance on him.
The incident occurred on 6 July, at approximately 1:25 in the morning. During a partial search, two transparent bags containing a substance that, in the opinion of experts, may be classified as narcotic drugs were discovered on the 2002-born youth.
The suspect was taken to the police commissariat. A pre-trial investigation has been initiated in connection with this incident under Article 259 of the Criminal Code – unlawful possession of narcotic or psychotropic substances without the purpose of distributing them.
