Over 40,000 euros defrauded in single day: three fraud cases in Lithuania
Police received reports of three fraud cases within the past day, in which over 40,000 euros was defrauded from residents in total.

Within a single day, criminals defrauded over 40,000 euros from three Lithuanian residents using various fraud schemes. Police reported three separate fraud cases, with preliminary investigations launched.
The greatest loss – over 17,000 euros – was suffered by a man born in 1963 living in Kazlų Rūda municipality. Unknown callers who spoke Russian called him, posing as employees of an investment platform and thus defrauded him of money.
A woman born in 1935 in Vilnius lost approximately 14,000 euros in various currencies. A man who called her, also speaking Russian, impersonated an employee of a telecommunications department and came to the victim's home, where he took the money.
In another case, under similar circumstances, a woman born in 1936 from Kaunas lost 10,000 euros.
In all cases, preliminary investigations have been launched for fraud. Police urge residents to be cautious and not to trust unsolicited calls, particularly when callers ask them to hand over money or personal information.
