On 8 July, police officers in Širvintai district conducted a coordinated operation in which they detained people suspected of distributing narcotic substances at several locations. This was reported by 15min.lt.
One of the suspects was a 24-year-old man from Širvintai, detained on Kalnalaukio Street in Širvintai. A substantial quantity of so-called "crystals" was found in his possession, which, according to investigators, he intended to sell.
However, what troubled officers most was not the quantity of drugs, but the fact that the suspect's child's mother had been drawn into the criminal activity. A 28-year-old woman was sitting in a vehicle with a minor child with which the suspect was travelling.
The suspects were placed in custody. A pre-trial investigation has been initiated.
