Two women lost more than €212,000 after trusting cyber scammers who impersonated employees of financial institutions and police. This was reported by 15min.lt.

On Wednesday, police received a statement from a resident born in 1955. She explained that from December of last year until June of this year, she communicated in the virtual space with unknown Russian-speaking individuals. These persons impersonated bank employees and police officers. Over several months, the woman lost €200,000.

From both victims, the scammers fraudulently obtained a total sum of €212.2 thousand. Law enforcement is investigating this fraud case.
