Telephone fraudsters defraud two women: losses exceed €62,000
Posing as bank employees, fraudsters deceived two elderly women out of €62,500. Preliminary investigations have been launched in both cases.

Fraudsters posing as bank employees deceived two women out of €62,500
As reported on Saturday by 15min, police registered two fraud cases in a short period of time, with combined losses totalling €62,500.
The first victim, born in 1947, approached officers on Friday and reported that on Thursday, at approximately 11 o'clock, she received a call from unknown individuals. The callers spoke Lithuanian with a Russian accent and presented themselves as bank employees – in this way deceiving her out of €17,500.
The second victim, born in 1948, reported that from early April until 22 May she received several calls from a person who spoke Russian. This person presented himself as a bank security employee and deceived her out of €45,000 during that period.
Preliminary investigations have been launched in both cases for fraud.
