Investigation into smoke device thrown during Lithuanian Pride march in Vilnius
A man threw a smoke device into a crowd during the Lithuanian Pride march in Vilnius on Saturday – police have launched a preliminary investigation. Nine people were detained in total.

Police reported on Sunday that a preliminary investigation has been launched into a man who threw a smoke device into a gathered crowd during the Lithuanian Pride march in Vilnius on Saturday, according to 15min.
The incident occurred at approximately 17:00 near Lukiškės Square. A man born in 1969 was detained shortly afterwards by police officers and placed in a police vehicle. The investigation was opened on suspicion of a public order offence.
Nine people were detained in total during the march. The march began at the Martynas Mažvydas Library, proceeded along Gediminas Avenue and concluded in Kalnų Park. The Lithuanian Gay League informed the BNS that approximately 18,000 people took part in the parade. This year's march theme was "All families in Lithuania matter".
