Vilnius – mass brawl in apartment block courtyard, six men detained
On Sunday evening, after 21:00, a large brawl broke out in an apartment block at 20 Musninkų Street in Vilnius. Several police units arrived at the scene and found men fighting, whom officers brought to the ground. All six participants were detained.
A caller to the emergency number 112 reported briefly: "Six men are fighting by the building. There are no casualties."
According to data from Vilnius District Police Headquarters, two light vehicles – a Toyota and a Kia – were damaged in the courtyard. A pre-trial investigation was launched into a public order offence.
Police reports indicate that the detainees demonstrated disrespect to those around them through hooliganism and other actions in a public place, disrupting public peace and order.
The detained young men were born in: 2006, 2004, 2003, 2002, 2001 and 1998. Police do not disclose the suspects' nationalities, as Lithuanian law applies equally to everyone.
The participants face fines. Moreover, it is likely that the owners of both damaged vehicles will file claims for compensation for the damage caused.
