In the capital, fraudsters posing as telecommunications company employees and police officers used deception to extract €10,000 from a woman. A pre-trial investigation has been launched.

Fraudsters conned €10,000 from 78-year-old woman in Vilnius
On Wednesday in Vilnius, €10,000 was conned from a woman (born 1948) through deception. The Police Department reported the crime.
According to preliminary information, at approximately 11:03 a.m., the woman, who was at home at the time, received a call from unknown persons. They spoke Russian.
The callers introduced themselves as employees of a telecommunications company and police officers. Taking advantage of the woman's trust, they used deception to extract €10,000 from her.
