Car theft gang dismantled in Łódź region. Police seize drugs and equipment for breaking security systems
Officers arrested four men aged 31 to 45 involved in vehicle thefts in the Skierniewice area. During searches, narcotics were found, two stolen cars were recovered, and specialist equipment used to disrupt GPS signals and bypass electronic locks was seized.

Four residents of Masovian voivodeship aged 31–45 have been taken into custody by law enforcement officers following the conclusion of a large-scale operation conducted on 16 June. Officers from the Skierniewice police headquarters, with support from colleagues from Łódź voivodeship, the Warsaw headquarters, and two counter-terrorism units, investigated and arrested a group responsible for car thefts in the area of the city.
The arrest was carried out with the participation of police counter-terrorism officers from BOA and the independent unit in Łódź, which testifies to the professional approach of the offenders and the necessity to deploy specialised forces. The men came from Masovia and operated in Łódź voivodeship.
During searches conducted at locations connected with group members, officers discovered significant quantities of psychoactive substances. Over 230 grammes of amphetamine, more than 280 grammes of mephedrone, almost four kilogrammes of marijuana, and over 4.1 kilogrammes of an as yet unidentified substance were found. All of this was sent to the forensic laboratory for detailed analysis.
Officers recovered two vehicles – a BMW and a Lexus – which had previously been stolen. Additionally, two car engines and around a dozen spare parts were confiscated. A key element of the secured evidence proved to be a set of specialist electronic devices which the offenders used to neutralise GPS locators, block mobile signals, and bypass factory electronic security systems in vehicles.
The group members operated methodically – after stealing cars, they would install registration plates from other vehicles on the stolen automobiles to hinder identification. CCTV recordings helped in their apprehension.
The court ordered the remand in custody of three of the four arrested individuals for a period of three months.
