Officers from the Scientific Investigative, Criminal and Forensic Body (CICPC) attached to the East Homicide Investigations Coordination have clarified the murder of José Manuel Escorche Alvarado, 35 years old, which occurred on Rómulo Gallegos avenue, Sucre municipality in the state of Miranda, according to ultimas noticias.com.ve.

The news was reported by the police force's director, Douglas Rico, through his Instagram account.

Investigators apprehended Jhon Félix Velásquez Blanco, 32 years old, identified as the perpetrator of the crime, following fieldwork combined with technical-scientific analysis. The detention was carried out on Leoncio Martínez avenue.

The investigation established that the victim was drinking alcoholic beverages with several people in the vicinity of Boleíta Sur. When moving along Rómulo Gallegos avenue to buy more alcohol, he was intercepted by Velásquez Blanco and a second individual who remains at large.

A brawl then ensued during which both attackers inflicted multiple stab wounds upon him, causing his death. At the time of his capture, Velásquez Blanco had a record for personal injury and vehicle theft. He was remanded to the custody of the 40th Prosecutor's Office of the Metropolitan Area of Caracas.
