Man arrested on Caracas Metro after stealing gold chain at La Hoyada station

Rafael Alexander Valero Rodríguez, 31, was apprehended at La Hoyada station on the Caracas Metro after robbing a woman of a gold chain.

Arrest on Caracas Metro for theft on escalators

According to instagram.com, the director of the Cicpc, Douglas Rico, announced through his social media accounts the capture of Rafael Alexander Valero Rodríguez, 31, for an alleged robbery that occurred at La Hoyada station on the Caracas Metro.

The incident took place in the escalators area of the station. Valero Rodríguez allegedly overpowered a 29-year-old woman to steal a gold chain from her. Following the incident, he attempted to flee the scene but was immediately detained by internal security personnel of the Caracas Metro.

Subsequently, officers from the Simón Rodríguez Municipal Delegation travelled to the site to formalise the detention and recover the victim's belongings.

Upon verifying the detainee's background through the Police Investigation and Information System (Siipol), authorities determined that the individual had an extensive prior criminal record.

The procedure and evidence collected were placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry, the body responsible for continuing with the corresponding judicial proceedings.
